URL Structure Inspector

Inspect a full URL locally. See the scheme, hostname, port, path, query parameters and fragment without visiting the destination.

How to use URL Structure Inspector

  1. Paste a complete URL, including its scheme.
  2. Choose Inspect URL.
  3. Review the parts and any structural observations.

A useful example

In https://example.com/tools/?category=file, the hostname is example.com, the path is /tools/ and category is a query parameter.

Limits and assumptions

This is not a malware, reputation, certificate or redirect scanner. HTTPS alone does not prove a website is trustworthy. Embedded credentials are identified but their values are not displayed.

Frequently asked questions

Does the inspector open the link?

No. The URL is parsed locally without a request to its destination.

Can it tell whether a website is official?

No. URL structure is only one observation. Verify identity and claims using reliable independent sources.
