Simplify a pair of pixel dimensions into an aspect ratio. Optionally calculate a matching width or height and choose common video presets.
How to use Aspect Ratio & Resolution Calculator
- Enter the width and height in whole pixels.
- Choose a preset if useful.
- Optionally enter a new width or height to calculate the matching dimension.
A useful example
1920 × 1080 simplifies to 16:9. A width of 1280 at that ratio needs a height of 720.
Limits and assumptions
Dimensions are limited to 100,000 pixels. Matching dimensions are rounded to whole pixels, so unusual ratios can change slightly after rounding. This tool does not resize or edit media.
