Convert basic SRT or WebVTT subtitle cues, keeping supported timing and Unicode text. The tool supports text input and local subtitle files.
How to use SRT / VTT Subtitle Converter
- Paste subtitle text or select a file smaller than 1 MB.
- Choose SRT or VTT as the output format.
- Convert, review the result and copy or download it.
A useful example
An SRT timestamp such as 00:00:01,000 becomes 00:00:01.000 in WebVTT. Punjabi and Hindi cue text remains Unicode text.
Limits and assumptions
Basic cues are supported. Cue positioning, header metadata, NOTE, STYLE and REGION blocks are omitted with a warning. Format-specific inline markup may need review. The tool preserves timestamps; it does not translate or retime captions.
Frequently asked questions
Will Punjabi or Hindi text change?
Supported cue text is preserved as Unicode, including Gurmukhi and Devanagari. Check the output and the font support in your media player.
Can all WebVTT features be converted to SRT?
No. SRT cannot represent every WebVTT setting. Review the reported warnings before using the converted file.
